30 Day Challenge

Every so often in life we reach a plateau.  We reach that point in our endeavors where we just feel we've lost steam and/or momentum.  Well, maybe this doesn't happen to you but this is exactly how I've been feeling during the past few months.

Fortunately, I have many inspirational mentors I follow, read about, and stalk on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube!  :)  I was reading through some notes I'd written after listening to one of these amazing people : Les Brown!  As I read, I was reminded of something Les suggested.  He said to write down 7 things you are committed to doing for 30 days that will thrust you towards your goals.  He went on to say that the results achieved as a result to committing to this will blow you away. (I'm paraphrasing)

So, I decided this would be a great idea to get my mojo moving again.  I've written my 7 things down.  It consists of daily activities I will commit to for 30 days to get me moving physically, spiritually, mentally, and financially.  I'm super stoked.  So far it's day 5.

I'm really looking forward to this.  I would love for you to join me.  Who's in?

Procrastination

Procrastination will keep you from reaching your full potential. It will leave you with regrets. Procrastination kills dreams and prevents you from becoming the person you truly desire to be. Sometimes we spend so much time talking about what we would like to do. We tell our friends and family. We write things down. We research and then we think some more. However, we never take action. The Bible says, "Faith Without Works is DEAD". Feeling great about an idea, a concept, or a business adventure is awesome. However, until action is taken nothing is accomplished. At this point this is merely a dream, a vision. Another popular passage says that, "Without a vision the people perish" It starts with a dream but it doesn't stop there. The most successful people in life are proACTIVE. They're doers! Yes, it's wonderful to dream. How much more satisfying would it be to live out our dreams!?! So tell your friends and loved ones about your plans, definitely write them down, create a plan, and then get moving! Take action. Don't be a victim to procrastination. Lets get started. Today!

Celebrating Me

I’m head strong. At times I’m stubborn.  I can be moody, temperamental, sensitive, and hasty.  I tend to fret, dissect things to death, and occasionally I’m very short on patience. Those are my flaws.

On the other hand I am an extremely loving, passionate person. I love to laugh and make others laugh. I’m hard working and motivated.  I'm nurturing.  Those are my strengths.

Today, I embrace all of me. I accept myself for all that I am and all that I’m not. I am special. I am uniquely and wonderfully made by God. He loves me as I am, so I should too. As I continue to pray, grow and develop I will remember to love and celebrate me….all of me.

I'm Expecting!

I feel like my life is spinning out of control. How exciting is that!? It’s not in a bad way. It’s a good thing. I have so many things going on right now I can’t believe it. I’m feeling overwhelmed, excited, nervous, and hungry for it all at the same time. I kind of feel like an expecting mother in her 8th month of pregnancy about to give birth to her first born.

I remember how I felt when I was pregnant with my son. I was afraid. This was a totally new experience I was about to embark on that was completely unfamiliar to me. Parenthood. I felt challenged to emerge as an individual so that I could contribute into the life of my unborn child. I was thrilled and elated about the living being that was growing inside of me. I remember all the preparation I did during my pregnancy term. I went to classes. I read books. I sought out the advice and the wisdom of others who already had children. And then somewhere around the 7th or 8th month I can recall becoming extremely uncomfortable; physically, emotionally, and mentally. I was ready. I wanted it to be over. It hurt at times. It was distressing but I knew in a matter of time a beautiful little baby boy was going to come from me and my life would never be the same.

So that’s where I am today. Feels like I’m about to give birth to my dreams and ambitions. My dream is blossoming inside of me as the days pass. The discomfort is there. I can hardly wait. In the meantime, I will prepare. I will continue to learn. I will nurture my body and cultivate my mind so when it springs forth I will be strong, healthy and prepared to sustain the fruits of my labor!

I told you guys that Abundance is my mantra for 2010. I believe God for an abundance of love, health, wealth, peace & joy. I’m pressing through this “term”, this season with anticipation of what’s to come. Whew! Yeah, I think I just had a contraction. I’m definitely feeling the growing pains…but I know it’s going to be so worth it, just as it was when I gave birth to my son. Yes! It’s a good thing!
