Random Thoughts

I seriously cannot believe my life right now.  It’s kinda crazy.  I was out shopping yesterday getting some more things the kids need for school.  Needles to say, they are both ready to go.  I can hear their excitement brewing.  It's bittersweet for me but I am a proud mama.  I know you're not supposed to say this about your own children but I will anyway.  I have been blessed with 2 of the most amazing children.  It is such a blessing to see them develop into young adults.  They're funny, caring, thoughtful, smart, and talented and gifted- each in their own unique way.

Anyway, so we brought all the bags and boxes home and now my house officially looks like a college dorm room supplies warehouse.

Ironically lately, I'm finding I'm obsessed with babies and/or puppies,  I believe my infatuation is a reactive impulsive emotion. Perhaps I should get some counseling.  When I stop and really think about either option, I conclude I must be insane!

So clearly, the baby is out of the question. I was considering a puppy but I’m gonna also put the puppy on hold for now.  In the meantime, I’m going to just enjoy being single and free, travel, etc.

I have been a single mother since I was 21 years old, straight out of college myself.  I’m still a mother don’t get me wrong but it will really be nice to have my time.  I can't wait to discover me again.  Seems I may have lost a little bit of me along the way.  Looking forward to the discovery. Pray for me.  LOL!

God has been so faithful to me and my family through the years.  I know He will be with me as I enter this new season as well.

Let's Get It!  whoop!

Valentine's Day: A Thin Line Between Love & Hate

My initial thoughts of Valentine's Day this year we're:
"This Sucks!" ,"I'm staying in Bed", and "My, how I would love to have a Loving Man in my life.

Thank God, very quickly those thoughts faded
and I was reminded that I'm surrounded by Love:
God's Love, Love from Friends, Family & Self Love

Then came the "voice of reason" affirming me...
I'm single-
not sick, not abnormal, and definitely not desparate.

Besides, I can always make myself
a special candlelight dinner...
;-)

...and how rewarding it will be
when the time is right for me
to truly give my HEART away

.....in the meantime
I will continue to Live, Love & Laugh!

and not allow my heart to grow bitter or resentful
but stronger and remain open to love.

I am an Open, Joyful, Grateful Woman
&
I Choose LOVE!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY !

Lessons in Life & Love: part 1

I have received a few inquiries about my previous post Insanity and the progress I am making.  You guys will be pleased to know that I have gone out a few times since that post.  You will also be pleased to know that I am having a great time.  So as promised here goes, Here are 5 Things I learned from my journey thus far:

  1. As I meet new people, I have determined to remain open minded.  We've already established that doing the same things over and over expecting different results defines insanity.  So I've taken steps to move out from my comfort zone, to smile and introduce myself  to others that I may not have necessarily spoken to in the past.  I am pleased to say,  I've met some pretty amazing individuals over the past few months as a result.
  2. Relationships serve different purposes.  Sometimes we hinder relationships because we try to make them become something they are simply not meant to be.  Likewise, we can also overlook an individual who clearly wants to become "more" in our lives.
  3. I have to keep self- growth as my focus. It's amazing what happens when we continue to work on ourselves. We truly are the love we seek!
  4. I talk too much!  Learning to listen more and talk less.  Stephen R. Covey says, "Seek first to Understand then to be understood". Great advice! -  Still working on this!  : )
  5. I have a tendency to take things way too seriously.  I'm learning to just have fun!  I'm enjoying the journey and remembering not to become fixated on the outcome. This like every other aspect of my life is a walk of faith.  It's amazing how liberating this is.  God is Writing My Love Story!  and no good thing will he withhold from me. <3
