Valentine's Day: A Thin Line Between Love & Hate

My initial thoughts of Valentine's Day this year we're:
"This Sucks!" ,"I'm staying in Bed", and "My, how I would love to have a Loving Man in my life.

Thank God, very quickly those thoughts faded
and I was reminded that I'm surrounded by Love:
God's Love, Love from Friends, Family & Self Love

Then came the "voice of reason" affirming me...
I'm single-
not sick, not abnormal, and definitely not desparate.

Besides, I can always make myself
a special candlelight dinner...
;-)

...and how rewarding it will be
when the time is right for me
to truly give my HEART away

.....in the meantime
I will continue to Live, Love & Laugh!

and not allow my heart to grow bitter or resentful
but stronger and remain open to love.

I am an Open, Joyful, Grateful Woman
&
I Choose LOVE!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY !

"Coo Coo" for Coconut Oil!

Coconut Oil is one of life's simple treasures that almost seems too good to be true!

I began learning of the greatness of this staple from the helpful man who owns Mung Bean.  I visited his Health Food Store to inquire of a natural oil I could use on my hair that would keep it moisturized and shiny.  He spoke very highly of coconut oil; not only for hair but also for skin-care, and even to ingest for weight loss and other health benefits.  Long story short, I purchased it and I've been a fan ever since.

Coconut oil is one of nature's best sources of nutrition for hair. It promotes healthy growth of hair. Regular massages of this oil on your scalp helps you remain dandruff-free and leaves hair shiny and manageable.  Coconut oil is extensively used in the Indian sub-continent for hair care. There's an awesome product they use called Vatika Oil which is basically coconut oil infused with other Ayurveda goodness.  Coconut Oil  is an excellent conditioner, it provides the essential proteins required for nourishing damaged hair.

There are tons of benefits for using organic coconut oil.  Here are a few other applications for Coconut Oil that have made me HEART it even more:

  • Skin Care: Coconut oil is an awesome massage oil for the skin as well. It acts as an effective moisturizer for especially dry skin (which is what I have) It also helps in treating various skin problems including psoriasis, dermatitis & eczema.
  • Heart Disease:  "People who traditionally consume large quantities of coconut oil as part of their ordinary diet have a very low incidence of heart disease and have normal blood cholesterol levels. This has been well supported by numerous population studies. The research shows that those people who consume large quantities of coconut oil have remarkably good cardiovascular health."By Bruce Fife, N.D.
  • Weight Loss:  Coconut Oil helps in enhancing the healthy functioning of the thyroid &enzymes systems. It increases your body's metabolism by removing stress on the pancreas.  This helps you burn more energy and experience weight-loss.  Coconut oil can also assist with boosting energy and stamina.  When I first began ingesting a large teaspoon of this in the morning, I recall feeling a nervous jittery feeling.  I felt like I could've scaled a building!  =)  I decreased the amount I was taking and learned to add it to foods & smoothies to eliminate that jittery "Red Bull" feeling.
  • Digestion: Internal use of coconut oil occurs primarily as cooking oil.  (I use it to make my eggs over easy and asparagus for breakfast--yummo) Coconut oil may help with improving the digestive system and can prevent some digestion issues such as IBS. It is also said that Coconut oil can help with absorption of other nutrients such as minerals, amino acids and vitamins.

Fashion on A Budget Online

Fashion on a Budget Online

by Shannon Holland

Most people ten years ago would have associated trudging round endless shops and getting stressed in changing rooms with clothes shopping, but with the rise of the Internet it's never been easier or cheaper to shop online. Thousands of sites sell clothing online; some as an online presence for an existing chain and some purely as an online business. The benefit to consumers is that there is so much competition that prices are often lower than the high street, meaning we get great clothes at a fraction of the price.

Obviously, online stores that represent existing brands will not sell their clothing cheaper online than in store, but the Internet-savvy shopper can still get a great bargain. Shopping online means that you can access sale items that might not be in your local branch, and plenty of sites periodically offer discounts for online customers. Sites that only operate as online businesses pay less overheads than others and therefore this is usually reflected in their prices, which mean bargain fashion is just a click away.

Sites where users can advertise their own personal belongings for sale are also a brilliant way to find cheap clothing. Sellers will often buy in bulk so that you can get fashionable clothes for less than the recommended retail price - it is important, however, to check a seller's reviews before you buy to make sure you'll get what you paid for.

An excellent way to grab some fashion bargains is to keep an eye out for the countless voucher offers that are about. Many websites will send a weekly or monthly email with the best voucher and discount codes around, which means you can be one of the first to check out what's on offer online and for a cheaper price. Another handy point about the Internet is that it is home to such a vast array of websites that you will never be stuck for choice.

Every cloud has a silver lining, and if you prefer to spend some time in the changing rooms before you buy then clothes shopping online might not be your bag. But it is undeniably perfect for anybody looking to make a saving and still be able to choose from a huge range of clothing, all without having to leave the comfort of your own home.
